SLOVENIA PRESENTS ITSELF

SLOVENIA` S TREASURES

Slovenia is the new destination for golfers. There are now four golf courses here (the oldest is at Bled and the others are at Mokrice, Lipica and the most recent near the Volčji potok Arboretum not far from Ljubljana). Another five are in the process of being laid or planned.
Slovenia golf courses offer from nine, 18 or 27 holes and nearby you can find excellent restaurants, horse riding and tradition (Lipica), an experience of olden times (Mokrice) or simply - prestige (Bled).

GOLF COURSE BLED
Bled
has the largest golf course in Slovenia. The playing season for the golf course runs from middle of March to end of October. The course is known as one of the most beautiful in Europe. Many international tournaments take place on it during the playing season.

The Bled Golf Course has 18 holes, PAR 73,SSS 73. Course covers an area of 65 hectares (158 acres) and it is 6338m long. Nine holes of the second golf course have been completed in 1993.
The golf course is laid out near the delightful lake Bled in northern Slovenia only a few miles from Italy and Austria and stands 1664 feet above sea level. The annual professional golf tournaments are a big attraction of Bled.

The landscape is completely natural and extremely well suited to golf. It is as attractive for top level players and professionals who play PGA tours as for beginners. Idyllic surroundings and exceptional land configuration are the main trumps of the golf course which was designed in seventieth by one of the biggest European architecture experts, Donald Harradine. On 256 acres basically level land despite the towering majesty of surrounding mountains he has laid out a parkland-style course of considerable charm. "Here is so beautiful, that the golf course is soon not going to be big enough anymore", he said then and he was right.

The Bled golf course is not only beautiful in appearance and favourably well-situated for the purpose of golf architecture but also very accessible. The course can be reached by every mode of transport since it is close to the expressway, the railway station, the Ljubljana Airport at Brnik, and the sport airport at Lesce.
