The new company for manufacturing and marketing of rubber engineered products is a joint venture with the U.S. corporation Goodyear having a 75 % stake and the Slovenian joint stock company Sava d.d. a 25 % stake. Slovenian experiences in the field of rubber engineered products are in this way upgraded by the internationally recognised and globally present Goodyear brand. State-of-the-art technology, presence on the European market and competitive prices are a guarantee for excellence and business success. Goodyear-EPE produces a selected range of products striving for superiority as far as technology and business operations are concerned which is a prerequisite for further development on demanding European market; Kranj-based production is an opportunity for Goodyear's even more integral - access to this market.

The company started its operations in 1998 and is managed by Mr. Stanko Cvenkel, General Manager. It produces and markets power transmission products and air springs. The production facilities are located in Kranj, to complete the offer some products are imported from America. For 1999 the company plans a turnover of US$ 38 million. At the moment there are 220 people employed and owing to new projects additional jobs are expected to be created. The production is ISO 9001 certified:

Air springs
What are they and what are they used for?

In buses and trucks the classical leaf springs are being replaced with air springs thus enabling a more comfortable drive, energy savings and transportation of heavier loads.
