SAVA TIRES Sava Tires is a company manufacturing and marketing passenger car, light truck and truck tires. The company is jointly owned by the American corporation The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. from Akron, Ohio and the Slovenian corporation Sava, d.d. from Kranj. Mission
Wealth of Tradition The tradition of the Slovenian rubber industry dates back to 1920 when a handicraft workshop first registered the manufacture of rubber products in Kranj. The production subsequently expanded, and was enlarged to include various rubber products. The organization structure has changed several times but Kranj has always remained the center of the Slovenian rubber industry. The awareness of the fact that if one wants to keep up with the competition and develop in such an intensive and demanding branch of industry, this requires international linkage with the world s best producers. This lead to the partnership with one of the leading rubber industry corporations in the world - the American Goodyear corporation. Plans for Growth Joining the Goodyear family will enable the new company to have access to advanced technology and to globalize its business process. In the next five years Sava Tires intends doubling the present volume of tire production. Excellence of the Producer The strategic partnership of two distinguished rubber producers that started on December 10, 1997, links the excellence of two recognized brand names - Sava and Goodyear - and gives a wider accessibility to the world and to new achievements in development and technology; as well as bringing a capital strength to both strategic partners. Sava, d.d., which has a 40 % share in the new company, has already produced more than 4,8 million automobile tires per year prior to this strategic alliance and had a turnover of 166,3 million US dollars in 1997. Know-How, Quality, Environment Sava Tires, as a market-oriented company,
increases its competitive advantage through cost rationalization as well as up-to-date
improvements in the field of organization and technology. Know-how, productivity and
quality remain the basic values of the company. Sava Tires, d.o.o. is run by the Board of Directors |
